Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums and 4 live albums. There are also compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The group has won multiple Grammy Awards.

Before the formation of Toto, band members did session work for other musicians. David Paich, the son of session drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all performed on Boz Scaggsalbum in 1975 Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in 1976 in the wake of the collaboration.

The third album of Toto, Turn Back, marked a change from the more progressive sound of their earlier albums and was criticized for the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's lead singer Fergie Fredericksen resigned the group, and they held auditions to find a replacement frontman. The band chose guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to mark its 20th anniversary. The band went through old tapes and recordings to create the unique record. The album was well-loved by fans and Toto embarked on a tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

In the course of the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun the drummer Leland Sklar departed from the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included recordings from the tour and also an interview with the group.
